HMV Apollo
Requiring little introduction, the famous HMV Apollo located in Hammersmith, has established itself as one of London’s key entertainment venues.
The venue opened on the 28th of March, 1932 as the Gaumont Palace cinema, designed in the Art Deco style by renowned theatre architect Robert Cromie, who also designed the Prince of Wales. Mostly used for comedy and rock/pop concerts also used for such television shows including X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent, Live at The Apollo. In recent years, performers have included Oasis, REM, Stereophonics, Kylie, Elton John, Peter Kay and Paul Weller to name but a few.
Iconic performers such as The Beatles, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Queen, The Rolling Stones and world known productions such as Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, High School Musical have all graced this eminent venue.
